Sagamihara Station (相模原駅 Sagamihara-eki?) is a commuter railway station on the East Japan Railway Company's Yokohama Line located in Chūō Ward, Sagamihara, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. It is 31.0 kilometers from the terminus of the Yokohama Line at Higashi-Kanagawa Station.

History

Sagamahara Station was opened on April 4, 1941 as a station on the Japanese Government Railway (JGR). The JGR became the Japan National Railway (JNR) after World War II. With the privatization of the JNR on April 1, 1987, the station came under the operational control of JR East. A new station building was completed in 1996.
